Waiting for Decisive Battle

Waiting for Decisive Battle*
by C. Charles Bley

now in an ecstasy
over the underground
test by our scientists.

welcoming crowd we see
Party official He
heroes the citizens

us a great enemy
damn suffered crushing in
senses again.
“won't we reduce
his den to dust”

medicine
nuke
nuke
thunder-bolt rock
no armed provoker.

to foil the reckless
machinations
come at us like lions
panic-stricken joy raging
burning hatred Yankee

a wolf
piercing, declares:
Fatherland Liberation
War
Korea
